SR 50 Bridges Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 5 held a groundbreaking ceremony marking the replacement of the SR 50 bridges over the Econlockhatchee River in east Orange County. This project includes two new spans that will safely accommodate vehicles, bicyclists, pedestrians and future road widening. The existing bridges are more than 50 years old, and currently carry around 39,000 vehicles a day! Congressman John Mica and FDOT Secretary Noranne Downs participated in the ceremony.
