View Details

This historic site protects the remains of a mile long Civil War defensive works.  The first phase of the preserve includes: a re-creation of the late 1800’s homestead, an arboretum for historic trees, a literacy center designed to look like an old barn, paved trails, a replica of a Civil War Campaign bridge, nature trails, extensive boardwalks, restrooms, water well, grass paved parking lot, and historical interpretive signs.   England-Thims & Miller, Inc. (ETM) also completed the Florida Communities Trust (FCT) grant application for this property in 2002, which was awarded and made the acquisition of this property possible.

ETM was awarded the Historic Preservation Award in 2005 for this project.
