England-Thims & Miller (ETM), in collaboration with Cowboy Q, recently hosted the “Feeding First Responders BBQ” in St. Johns County, Florida. This event, orchestrated by ETM’s Senior Inspector and Cowboy Q founder, Wes Watson, provided a complimentary BBQ meal to first responders as a token of gratitude for their service and bravery.
In addition to serving as a Senior Inspector at ETM, Wes Watson, a former firefighter, brings his award-winning BBQ skills to the table. Since his debut in competitive BBQ in 2016, Watson has garnered numerous accolades, including qualifications for the World Steak Championship four times and the World Food Championships five times. He has clinched the title of Grand Champion across various food categories such as St. Louis Ribs, Chicken, Pork, Brisket, and more.
The event also featured a raffle to raise funds to support additional Feeding First Responder BBQs across the First Coast.
Volunteers from all over North Florida attended the event, including G’s Slow Smoked BBQ & Catering, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Department, St. Johns County Fire Rescue Station 4, and others. Additional support from 904Now, AC Griffin and Son, Jimmy Jam Community Outreach, AA Bottled Gas, Bonos, The Pig, Mojo Old City BBQ, T.G. Utility Company, and Mixon Fixins Catering helped ensure the event was an enormous success.
We are excited to announce that in partnership with St. Johns County, this will be an annual Feeding First Responders BBQ, held again next spring. We also plan to replicate this event in other local counties.
