As part of a continuing services agreement with the City of St. Augustine, ETM provided professional engineering design services and Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the replacement of approximately 9,300-linear-feet of deteriorating 2′ galvanized and 6′ cast iron pipe with 6′ PVC pipe.
The Fullerwood project is one of the oldest residential neighborhoods within the incorporated city limits of St. Augustine, Florida. To minimize asphalt and driveway cuts, installation was completed by open-cut and Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) as appropriate. Since the corridor was narrow and preserving old trees was important, we were able to avoid large tree roots and maximize the distance from 2′ existing galvanized and 6′ cast iron with a new pipeline route. The project also required modeling for fire protection flow for new fire hydrants, and permits with the FDOT and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
