Jacksonville’s Downtown Development Review Board (DDRB) met on Thursday, Oct. 12. The board reviewed and granted conceptual and final approvals for several projects including the five-block Pearl Street District multi-phase plan included in the proposed Gateway Jax development which was first announced in September.
Hoping to get development projects through the approval process quicker while taking some of the workload off an under-staffed planning division, the city of Altamonte Springs is turning to Artificial Intelligence for site plan reviews.
Gateway Jax, the proposed $500 million mixed-used development in Downtown’s North Core, received final approval from the Downtown Development Review Board on Oct. 12 for its Pearl Street District multiphase site plan and conceptual approval for three blocks within the development.
A project that looks to add 1,000 multifamily units and thousands of square feet of retail space to downtown Jacksonville’s North Core is just the first step in what the developers say could be valued at $2 billion worth of work over the coming decade.
