The Greenway Trails are part of Nocatee, a National Top Selling Master Planned Community (15,000 acres) located in St. Johns County. More than 60 percent of Nocatee’s lands have been set aside as permanent preserves and are all interconnected to provide migratory routes for wildlife.
The 4-miles of Greenway Trails connect neighborhoods and commercial districts, and link 330 acres of parks with winding footpaths through these scenic preservation lands. Over one mile includes a 16’ wide asphaltic concrete path with three elevated wooden boardwalks over wetlands. Along with pedestrian, bicycle and other typical shared-use path modes of transportation, the width of this path was extended to accommodate golf carts and low speed vehicles as part of an overall circulation plan within Nocatee.
Our team was responsible for the planning, design, plan preparation, specifications, bid package and permitting with St. Johns County and the St. Johns River Water Management District, and provided construction management for the Greenway Trails.
