Project Overview
The new One More Child Jacksonville Campus is a 17-acre mission-driven facility built to serve vulnerable children and families across Northeast Florida. The campus opens its doors as a comprehensive hub for child welfare, housing stability, and food access in Duval County, where the need has grown faster than the resources to meet it.
Completed through a deep partnership between One More Child, Auld & White Constructors, and England-Thims & Miller (ETM), the project transformed underutilized land into a fully functioning campus designed to deliver tangible support, services, and long-term hope to the people who need it most.
A Foundation Build on Service
ETM's role on this project began with something most people never see. Before a single building could be designed, 17 acres of underutilized land needed to be rezoned to make the campus possible. ETM provided pro-bono services from day one, leading the PUD rezoning effort that established the regulatory foundation for the entire development.
From there, ETM served as engineer of record, delivering civil engineering services across the full campus. The work required careful planning, technical precision, and a commitment to advancing a mission far bigger than any single deliverable. The following services were provided:
- PUD Rezoning - Pro-bono leadership of the rezoning process to convert 17 acres of underutilized land into a development-ready campus site.
- Civil Engineering - Full engineering of record services across the campus, including site design, grading, and infrastructure planning.
- Permitting & Regulatory Coordination - Coordination of approvals required to bring the campus from concept to construction.
Community Impact
Now open, the One More Child Jacksonville Campus delivers lasting impact for the families and children who call Northeast Florida home. The campus serves as:
- A 25,000-square-foot Compassion Center providing food, clothing, household goods, and resources to families in need
- A safe and supportive housing environment for single moms enrolled in the residential program
- A regional distribution hub supporting partner churches and ministries across Northeast Florida
- A long-term home for child welfare, family stability, and community-based services
This project stands as a model of what mission-driven development can accomplish when public, private, and nonprofit partners come together with a shared purpose. ETM is proud to have helped shape a campus that will serve generations of families across Duval County and beyond.
